Will be leaving names and company out of it. I worked at a government hospital for 2 years. Few weeks ago the chief came out to announce that 98 officers would be put out of work because the contract would be ending that gave us 11 days to find work 3 days before the X date I was brought into the office being told we really want you keep you ÿour an excellent worker the position they were putting me at was going to be in a shack without AC it hasn't been fixed in months after working thar post a week after the X date I decided to quit. Considering what my new job entailed and feeling like I was lied too. Finally was able to get this off my chest.

Damn that sucks. I'm sorry they did this to you. If I was in your shoes I might have taken the shack position and began looking for alternative employment. It's easier to get a new job if your already employed.
Also, I'm sure the department of labor would love to hear about the working conditions of that shack.

It’s a tough world in the contract security business. Especially with money involveD. I would have taken the assignment as well, then looked and jumped ship immediately.
At least they gave you notice, I’ve seen some where it’s more along the lines of “surprise!”
